He graduated from the Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy in 1999 (class of Yuriy Umrikhin) and was accepted by the Mariinsky Theatre in the same year. He performed solo roles in the Soviet versions of the ballets of Petipa and Gorsky, as well as the ballets of Balanchine and Forsythe. He performed in the Russian
premieres of ballets by Nijinsky, Macmillan, Neumeier, and Preljocaj. He was the original performer of roles in ballets by Lacotte, Ratmansky, Simonov, Miroshnichenko, Dmitrievskiy, and Gelber. He took part in the projects Diana Vishnyova: Beauty in Movement and Diana Vishnyova: Dialogues.
He made his debut as a choreographer at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2012. He staged a total of six works there, including Violin Concerto No. 2 to music by Prokofiev, which won him a Golden Mask National Theatre Award for Best Choreography.
He has worked at the Yacobson Ballet Theatre, Moscow Ballet, Bayerisches Staatsballett, and the Bоlshoi Theatre, as well as Perm Choreographic College.
From 2017 to 2020, he was assistant artistic director and choreographer at Ural Ballet. There he staged the ballet Brahms Party to music by Johannes Brahms and Korolyov’s The Little Humpbacked Horse.
From 2020 to 2023, he has been head of the ballet troupe at Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre.
